Study Awards

SIET Achievement Awards for Junior College, ITE, Polytechnic and University Students

This is to recognise and spur Indian students to excel in both their academic and co-curricular activities and to encourage then to further serve the community.

Applicants must meet the following criteria:
arrow Singapore Citizens of Indian descent
arrow Must have completed at least one year in junior college, ITE, polytechnic or university with excellent academic achievement
arrow Excellent CCA record and participation in community work, preferably at leadership level.
arrow Must give an undertaking to help SIET in community work and future projects

Value

arrow Junior College, ITE - $1,000/-
Polytechnic - $1,500/-
arrow University - $2,000/-
arrow Excellent CCA record and participation in community work, preferably at leadership level.
arrow Must give an undertaking to help SIET in community work and future projects
Undergraduate students and Polytechnic students who have been successful in their application for a study loan from SIET will also be eligible for consideration for this award.

 

Registrations are opening from Monday, 1st March 2010.Closing date for applications is Saturday, 22nd May 2010. Short listed candidates will be invited for an interview and those selected will receive their awards at an awards presentation ceremony on Saturday, 24th July 2010.

SIET Arts / Theatre / Music / Sports Awards

These awards are awarded to students who aspire to achieve excellence in Arts, Music and Sports through the pursuit of a formal course of study in a reputable institution.

G Sarangapany Education Trust Fund Fellowship Awards in Journalism/Media Studies

To encourage talented individuals to develop themselves further and contribute in the field of Journalism /Media. The fellowship will be open to those who are presently working in the field of journalism and the mass media as well as to serving teachers who wish to contribute in these areas

Course
A local or overseas post –graduate course in any area of Journalism/Media that will benefit the local Tamil media industry.

Applicants must meet the following criteria:
arrow Singapore Citizens of Indian descent.
arrow Acceptable recognised Diploma or Degree in the above fields.
arrow Active CCA record and participation in community work is an advantage.
arrow Must give an undertaking to help SIET in community work and future projects
arrow Must give an undertaking to serve in the local media industry upon return from studies for a period of at least three years.
